Bill Klein – Since 1998
Local Sales Manager
All About Bill:
Bill has been in broadcasting for 30 years – in Rochester for 18 in radio and the last 12 in TV at ABC6 News. In 2009, Bill was promoted to Local Sales Manager. He has also done sports play by plays and written a local sports column. He and his wife Jeanne have been married for 28 years. They have 3 children, Bob, a recent honors graduate of William Mitchell School of Law who works in the Finance department at IBM; Shelly, an RN at Gunderson Lutheran in LaCrosse who is continuing her education at Winona State University to be a Nurse Practitioner; and Stephanie is a sophomore at the University of Minnesota. You'd never know they are his kids Bill says…they have their Mother's looks and brains. The family's Australian shepherd "Jake" however does bear a strong resemblance to Bill.
Bill's Philosophy:
Everyone should strive to be their client's "best" sales rep. To do that, he believes you must go beyond being the smartest rep they have and always work for your client's benefit first. Mark's sales philosophy is to always under promise and over perform; your client should be your best reference. There is nothing wrong with not knowing the answer to your client's question as long as you tell them you don't have an answer right now, but you will get the answer and get right back with them.
Mark's Fun Fact:
Mark was selected as one of the two top junior golfers from the state of Oklahoma to play with two from Texas and a PGA professional in an exhibition round in Wichita, Texas. Arnold Palmer was the professional and Ben Crenshaw was one of the golfers from Texas. There were 8,000 people in the gallery and I was so scared I couldn't find my glove. I had to borrow one from a friend to hit my first shot. My parents have a picture of me teeing off with Palmer and Crenshaw watching me and you can see my glove in my hip pocket. I was so scared I couldn't feel it.
