Shots Fired into St. Paul Home

A woman says she was sweeping her dining room with her one-year-old grandson Thursday when several bullets were fired into her St. Paul home.

Davine Stewart says she heard two popping noises and felt small shards of glass hit her face—the result of shots fired through the two windows of her house.

Police say the also found several bullets lodged in the wall of the house.

"Anything could have happened. The kids could have gotten hit in the way," she said.

Stewart lives in the house with her two daughters, grandson and her one-year-old cousin. She tells 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS the shooting could have been a case of mistaken identity—as the people who lived at the residence one year before were known for causing trouble.

St. Paul Police says they have leads on suspects and don't believe the shooting was random.

Stewart says the incident has shaken her family up so much that they likely will be leaving the neighborhood.
