Accident Causes Death of 2-Year-Old

(ABC 6 NEWS) - The Fillmore County Sheriff's Office says it is investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy on a farm East of Mabel, Minnesota. Sheriff Daryl Jensen says the accident happened shortly after 5:00 pm on Tuesday evening.

Jensen said that the two small children were riding in the back of pickup.  The child’s grandparent believed that the children were seated near the center of the pickup box when he went to back up the vehicle.   The child was run over before the driver realized the child was not in the vehicle. 

An ambulance and Med-Link helicopter responded to the scene, but the child was pronounced dead shortly after the accident.

The child was identified as Anthony Williams of rural Mabel.
