Fire Damages Cummins Plant

(ABC 6 NEWS) – Workers at the Cummins filtration plant in Lake Mills, Iowa are back at work today after a fire forced the plant to evacuate early this morning.

The sprinklers and an alarm system was activated around 1:30 in the morning after a fire spread when an air compressor shorted out.

Firefighters left the scene around 3:00, but had to return again at 3:00 when the fire re-ignited into part of the roof.

Around 120 workers were evacuated. They are now back to work, but are running about 4 or 5 hours behind schedule. There is minor water damage to the building.

The fire is not believe to be suspicious.
