Laura Freund (August)

Mrs. Laura Freund, music and technology teacher at the rose creek elementary school, incorporates robots, music, and endless creativity into her teaching. She provides her students with a cutting edge advantage in their early education. This month we are recognizing her as our August Excellent Educator.

Laura is a big believer that music and technology unleash new ways of thinking, "When you see a child who's maybe struggled in other areas� all of the sudden be able to excel in an area like music or technology, it lets out an aspect of their person that doesn't get another way of expression, and that's a very exciting thing to be around.�

Students appreciate her charisma and talents, "She's so colorful and talented"

She's a big reason why the rose creek elementary carnival is such a big success.

"It's a really neat community building event," says Freund. "It's a lot of fun for the kids; our community just donates tons of stuff, prizes, money, and raffle items. The children bring things to donate and parents come and work. The whole community turns up."

Laura's endless efforts don't go unnoticed by her co-workers:

"She spends countless hours preparing and being read and anticipating things that may need to be done, and she so willingly shares her time and talents with our staff and students," says a fellow teacher.
