The annual festival is a celebration of the town and is filled with flea market stands, food vendors, and a few musical acts. Organizers say they expect between 15 and 20 thousand people to come through the small town. Other big evens include the fireman's dance, a truck show, and the Miss Mantorville contest. Miss Mantorville must be a junior or senior in high school, and the winner gets a $500 scholarship toward college. "It's a get together. Look at this! We had thousands of people in town. It's a good time," says Marigold Days Committee Chair Cindy Nelson. The flower show is also a hit with floral enthusiasts. The most common flower is, of course, the marigold. |
