Woman Upset by Pet Cemetery Mix-Up

For a Bloomington woman, her dog was part of her family, so she was upset by a mix-up at the pet cemetery where the dog was buried.

Diana Gianonni's dog Tiffany died in August and was buried at a pet cemetery in Roseville, maintained by the Animal Humane Society.

The dog was supposed to be buried beside Gianonni's other two dogs. But when Gianonni received her bill, she learned Tiffany had been buried on top of one of the other dogs.

Gianonni said, "It's upsetting. Every time I think of Tiffany and the problems I'm having, I want to cry."

Gianonni said the gravedigger told her that there was already a dog buried in what was supposed to be Tiffany's grave.

She said the Animal Humane Society sold her a plot that wasn't up for sale.

After 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS started asking questions, the Animal Humane Society issued an apology to Gianonni. The society said it will refund her money and give Tiffany her own plot. Gianonni will also receive a fourth plot for free.
