Albert Lea Semi-Pro Team Getting Started

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- The Albert Lea Grizzlies are a nine-man football team that is a part of the Southern Plains Football League.

The Grizzlies were formed after the Southern Minnesota Indians out of Owatonna split up at the end of the last season.

The majority of the players are from Albert Lea and are holdovers from the Indians.

The team says the reason they formed was to have something to represent the city for years to come.
