Official Says Kehoe Confessed to Killing Son

GRUNDY CENTER, Iowa (AP) - A state investigator says Michelle Kehoe admitted killing her son and harming another and then asked to die.

Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Special Agent Chris Callaway testified Friday in Kehoe's first-degree murder trial.

She is accused of killing 2-year-old Seth Kehoe and injuring his brother, 7-year-old Sean, in October 2008. Authorities say she drove the family van to a pond near Littleton, placed duct tape over her sons' faces and slit their throats before cutting her own neck.

Callaway interviewed Kehoe in the hospital, where she was recovering. He says she was unable to speak but wrote answers to his questions.

The trial was moved to Grundy County because of publicity surrounding the case.
