Kasson-Mantorville riding their defense

The Kasson-Mantorville football team is putting up points in bunches this year, averaging almost 43 per game.

But there's also another reason they are 10 and oh and heading to the Section 1AA football championship against La Crescent.

It's their defense.

The Komets defense is only giving up 12 points per game. Their closet game this season was yesterday against Lourdes in the section semis, where the Komets won 31-14.

The defense has held opponents to 7 points or less five times this season.

So while the talk continues to remain on the Komets offense, the Komet defense continues to fly under the radar.
