Added Enforcement Leads to DWI Arrests

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- The results are in for this weekend's stepped up police enforcement in Freeborn County.

It led to 8 DWI arrests.

The Albert Lea Police Department and Freeborn County Sheriff's Office enhanced their presence on the roads Friday through Sunday because of Halloween. They say it's one of the biggest party nights of the year.

Authorities say during Halloween weekends from 2006 to 2008, 7 out of 15 traffic deaths were alcohol related. In Freeborn County, there were four alcohol related deaths during that time period.
