A student found a message in the men's bathroom at the main library. It said "almost time of the destruction of blacks and asians here." It was dated November 2. The school gave students the option to stay home from class. But many did not take the offer. Instead hundreds of students and faculty members dressed in school colors and held a rally and a march. Haiya Zhang, an international student, said "I am scared myself but I choose to go to class today. I choose to wear red and I choose to stand here and speak up." The River Falls police chief said there are no suspects and no strong leads. The school said there were two hate messages found last year and one in 2004. |
