Web Site Simplifies Donations to Minnesota Charities

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A new Web site aims to make donations to more than 36,000 Minnesota charities easier by helping donors connect with groups they support, then processing their contributions.

It's called GiveMN.org and the Web site started taking donations on Monday.

Among other things, it allows donors to browse charities by interest, for example a query will show a list of environmental or religious groups.

Donors can go to GiveMN anytime to support their favorite causes. They can also manage their charitable giving there by recording contributions and storing receipts for tax purposes.

The site is the result of cooperation between several charitable foundations in Minnesota and Razoo.com, which provided the technological know-how.
