Albert Lea Man Pleads Guilty to Sword Attack

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A 37-year-old man strikes a plea deal with prosecutors after he's accused of attacking a woman with a sword.

Marco Morales plead guilty to use of a dangerous weapon in Freeborn County court today. In exchange, three other felonies against him were dropped.

This stems from an incident in July.

Albert Lea Police say Morales slashed a woman in the neck with a sword near a downtown business. They say after the attack, Morales walked two blocks to his Broadway Avenue apartment. Police say that's where they found the sword used in the attack.

He'll be sentenced December 14th.
