Two more players were suspended from the Gopher basketball team and one of them faces criminal charges.

Head coach Tubby Smith announced the suspension of freshman Royce White and senior Devron Bostick. Smith said the players broke team rules, but did not elaborate.

White does face legal trouble. Police ticketed him for misdemeanor assault and theft at Mall of America on October 13. He is accused of stealing less than $200 worth of merchandise from Macy's and pushing a security guard to the ground.

According to the Bloomington city attorney's office, White has a Nov. 17 arraignment scheduled stemming from the incident at the mall.

White led Hopkins High School to the state championship in March and was Minnesota's 2009 Mister Basketball. White attended Hopkins after he was dismissed from DeLaSalle for academic misconduct.

The reason for Bostick's suspension is not entirely clear. His name was not included in the police report from the mall incident.

The report does say that White was with three other people.

Bostick averaged 11 minutes per game last season for the Gophers.

Smith said both players will be held out for at least two games, or until he's ready to invite them back.

White and Bostick brought the number of gopher basketball players suspended to three.

Trevor Mbakwe is on indefinite suspension pending the outcome of his trial on a felony aggravated battery charge in Miami.
