For the third straight year, Blooming Prairie and Goodhue will meet in the Section 1A playoffs. Two years ago, it was a Section final game, then last year ... the semis, and now, this season, we're back to a finals contest. Should be a good one. In 2008, the Awesome Blossoms beat the Wildcats 34-14 before falling to Rushford-Peterson in the next round. "The seniors have been here now for a third year, and there's a comfort level," Blooming Prairie Head Coach Chad Gimbel said. "It's not new to them anymore. It's not new to the community. Everybody's treating it - more or less - like it's a Friday night football game, and that's kind of the way we've approached it this week, as well." "We just have to go out and our offense has to perform, and our defense can't give up the big plays," Blooming Prairie Wide Receiver Justen Ingvalson said. "They're gonna be a good team. They're gonna be solid. They made it to the finals, so we just have to prepare for them, not slack off and not take anything for granted." Friday's game starts at 7 PM in Blooming Prairie. |
