Posted at: 11/04/2009 3:26 PM Mayo Clinic Receives More H1N1 Vaccine(ABC 6 NEWS) – Mayo Clinic has received another shipment of the H1N1 vaccine and is again taking appointments for vaccination. The appointment line opened at seven this morning and eligible patients are welcome to call. That includes established Mayo Clinic primary care patients at any of their four offices in Rochester or Kasson, or primary care internal medicine patients who either pregnant, caring for children younger than six months of age, or between the ages of 6 months and 18 years. Both the nasal mist and injectable form are available. Due to limited H1N1 vaccine and recommendations from the state, the Austin Medical Center has canceled their public H1N1 vaccine clinic at the Oak Park Mall tonight. Patients in an at-risk group are still encouraged to make an appointment at the medical center for the vaccine.
4 More Flu Deaths in Minnesota, 3 Confirmed Swine Flu Health Department officials say the three confirmed victims all had underlying health conditions. Health officials didn't provide names or genders of the victims, but they were a Hennepin County resident in their 50s, a Fillmore County resident in their 20s and a Winona County resident in their 70s. The fourth death was an "older adult" who died of the flu, but there wasn't a sample available to test and confirm what type of flu. Also, state health officials say they are making plans to vaccinate young children in schools throughout the state in a few weeks, but only if they get enough vaccine and with parents' consent.
