Support for Austin Teacher

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Hundreds of people came out to support one very special woman in Austin tonight.

Margy Voss taught at Austin schools for 30 years until this past July when she broke her neck in a car accident while on vacation in Arizona.

Tonight, family, friends, fellow teachers, even former students came out to support her at a chili supper.

Margy was unable to attend because she is being treated at St. Mary's.

Those at the event were blown away by the turnout, but not surprised.

Next week Margy is being transferred to a care center in golden valley.

Friends say she is determined to become strong enough to return to Austin.

The money from the benefit will help bring her home.
