Mason City School Restricts Access After Threatening Messages

(ABC 6 NEWS) – Mason City High School is restricting access to its campus after school officials found several threatening messages on bathroom stalls.

Officials say someone wrote a threatening message on a boy's bathroom stall Tuesday morning. Wednesday morning, they found a similar message on a girl's bathroom stall.

The school is now restricting entrance to the building through the main door. That's the only way students and visitors will be able to exit as well.

Bags and purses may be searched during school hours, and bags are restricted from hallways and classrooms. There will also be frequent checks of the building and lockers for the next several days.

The school says its allowing students to stay home this Friday if parents are concerned. School officials are not disclosing what that message was.
