Court records show 31-year-old Joel Silva is behind bars for a parole violation. Police found numerous cell phones and suitcases containing graphic pornography while serving a search warrant last week. According to the search warrant, police were looking for Silva after an Apple Valley woman reported receiving unwanted sexual phone calls and photos. The warrant shows cell phone records led police to Silva. "It seems pretty likely to me right now based on the info from Apple Valley that there's a multitude of victims," said Prior Lake Police Officer Christopher Olson. Police say one of Silva's victims is just 12 years old. "He was sending her images of him in various states of undress of himself and he had convinced her to reciprocate and send images of her in various states of dress and undress," said Olson.
No one was home at the trailer where Joel Silva lives when FIVE EYEWITNESS NEWS knocked, but neighbors say he was there when police served the warrant.
"They had their vests on and their guns drawn and i think they had the battering ram out," said Michael Hern, a neighbor of Silva.
If charges are filed against Silva, it likely will not happen for a few months.
