Local Cub Scouts Raise Funds with Popcorn

(ABC 6 NEWS) – Some people around the area will soon have a tasty treat and the proceeds from it support our local Cub Scouts.

Austin Cub Scout pack 113 worked all fall to sell popcorn and trail-mix. On Saturday they picked up their orders.

The scouts popcorn sale is their only fund raiser of the year. Troop 113 set a goal this year to raise $24,000 with sales of the popcorn, but they went way over that. They sold more than $30,000.

“I am shocked at how many people ordered popcorn this year. The community response was just awesome,” says popcorn chair Kris Olson.

A portion of the proceeds helps the pack with funding for supplies, camping gear, and more.
