(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Every month here at ABC 6 NEWS, we get the opportunity to honor an outstanding educator.
This month we spotlight a woman who brings new and fun ideas into the classroom.
Stop by Mrs. Jeannie Bambrick's second grade class at St. Augustine elementary in Austin and you'll know right away--this isn't your average classroom.
The children sit on wit fit balls, a specific request by Mrs. Bambrick.
This, along with her many other acts of kindness, has led to her nomination as the ABC 6 NEWS Excellent Educator for the month of January.
In Mrs. Bambrick's class it's all about the students...but learning isn't just for the kids.
"I believe that life long learning makes you a better person and so I'm doing my masters so that I can continue my education so that I can give the kids more of what they need," Mrs. Bambrick says.
"She will look at a situation and say, ya know, what kind of improvements can we make and what can make this better for the kids," says Mrs. Holtorf.
The most rewarding part of the job is simple.
"The kids, the kids, and seeing when that little spark comes on and you see that you have made a difference," says Mrs. Bambrick.
