(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Armed with a smart board, lots of enthusiasm, and a love for her students, 2nd grade Byron elementary school teacher Mrs. Rebecca Demmer ensures the best learning experience possible.

It’s probably because she turns each student into a star.
 
"We have a star of the week & everybody gets to be a star of the week. During the week they have special things they get to do. They have pictures of themselves & special treasures that tell about them. They have lunch with me in the classroom. Mom & Dad write a special letter that I read to the class about their child. We share everything & we sign a poster that they decorated & made. We all sign the back of it & then I save the special letter that the parents write and they will get that back someday,” Demmer says.
 
Mrs. Demmer brings technology to the forefront of the classroom.

"Our Smartboard, all of my lessons are made up of … it's like a PowerPoint, but it's interactive with the Internet, we can download music, & Smartboard is the biggest thing. I love my Smartboard," Demmer says.
 
So of course she likes her job, right?

"I have more passion for this job then I've had for any other job in my life. It's definitely one that drives me & I can stay beyond my time to leave and many more hours beyond that with no problem,” says Demmer.
