Riley Worth (June)

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Mr. Riley Worth's wide range of talents and classroom dedication earn him our Excellent Educator award for the month of June.
 
Mr. Worth's wacky sense of humor keeps things lively in the classroom.
 
“He's really wacky, he's possibly the wackiest teacher I've ever had,” says one student.
 
“He just has a sense like of imagination and humor that just makes class like really fun,” says another student.
 
“They really enjoy an interview with a character named Rowdy Worm and he dates Britney Spears or at least he says he does,” says Mr. Worth.
 
His involvement with the student newspaper gets students excited about journalism
 
The sophomores are putting together a newspaper in the same mode as the school's newspaper and it's kind of practice for them to get the feeling of what it's like to work for the student newspaper and as a journalist in general.
 
"He tells us what he likes about it, usually there's a lot of things he likes about our stories. He tells us what he thinks we could do better. He doesn't criticize us,” says a student.
 
His lesson plans change as journalism evolves
 
“Really, to continue to find news ways to use communication as the 21st century continues on and try to make the newspaper more of a 21st century model,” says Mr. Worth.
 
He couldn't imagine a better career.
 
“The job I currently have is my dream job. I would be extremely excited to retire in this position,” says Mr. Worth.
