(ABC 6 NEWS) – For many of us filing your taxes is a time to see how much money you get back or how much you own, and the deadline is quickly approaching on April 18th.
Deanna Borske has helped people file their taxes for 15 years.
She works at Jackson Hewitt in Rochester and said this year is not the same as past tax seasons.
"We are not just seeing W-2s we are seeing disbursements from retirement, unemployment, and helping them kind of navigate through some of the things they wouldn’t normally see in a normal tax season. The advanced child tax credit, recovery rebates, those types of things are kind of hard for people to navigate," TP 3 with Jackson Hewitt, Deanna Borske said.
Borske said they’ve seen a lot more business this year with changes this tax season.
"Gather all their tax documents I know it is an anxious time it is the end of the year and everybody is like ope I’m going to wait till the last minute I’m going to say don’t wait till the last minute get them filed as soon as possible," Borske said.
Jackson Hewitt will be open on Easter for those last-minute filings.
