Standoff suspect to stand trial in July

(ABC 6 News) – The Dodge Center man at the center of a six-hour standoff in November has a court date this summer.

John Martin Lenz, 65, plead not guilty to one charge of felony domestic assault by strangulation, one felony charge of terroristic threats, and one misdemeanor charge of assault in the fifth degree.

His pre-trial is scheduled for June 29, 2022, with a trial date scheduled for July 11.

Lenz is accused of assaulting his roommate after family members attempted to bring him to St. Marys hospital for an evaluation. He reportedly threatened to shoot law enforcement officers if they tried to intervene.
