An amazing feat nonetheless for the Vikings to go the regular season undefeated. They’ve got so much to be proud of.
The unseeded Minneota Vikings went into the game as the Class A defending champions and will have a shot at winning a second straight state title on Saturday.
Following the loss, Hayfield GBB Head Coach Kasey Krekling spoke to ABC 6 Sports Reporter José Solís on what had transpired.
"This team executed the game plan brilliantly at the beginning of the game today to build a lead. Unfortunately, we got hit with extreme foul trouble and Minneota was able to make a comeback. We are looking forward at a chance to end our season with a win tomorrow in the 3rd place game vs Mayer Lutheran."
Hayfield’s match against Mayer Lutheran is at 11 AM on Saturday at Concordia University and can be seen on MN Prep Spotlight.
