16-year-old potentially facing felony charges after crash
(ABC 6 News) – A 16-year-old Rochester boy is potentially facing felony charges after being involved in a crash Wednesday night.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a 16-year-old Stewartville girl who said her ex-boyfriend had purposefully crashed into her vehicle and drove off.
She said she was leaving a friend’s house in Rochester and she had seen his vehicle down the street. She claims he followed her and at one point parked in the road blocking both lanes of traffic before getting out and approaching her vehicle.
The 16-year-old girl was able to drive off but the ex-boyfriend reportedly followed her and was driving recklessly. While going around a curve on the 700 block of County Road 16 SE in High Forest Township, the vehicles collided.
While deputies were speaking with the 16-year-old girl and her parents, the ex-boyfriend returned to the area with his mother and provided a different account of what happened. The sheriff’s office said physical evidence at the scene matched with the girl’s story.
The 16-year-old boy was taken into custody. He is facing possible charges of felony 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, felony stalking, misdemeanor domestic assault causing fear and reckless driving.
