(ABC 6 News) – Area girl scouts brightened the day of Austin seniors at the Good Samaritan Comforcare Tuesday.
The Saint Ansgar girl scouts delivered a box of cookies to every resident which was purchased by staff at the Good Samaritan.
The group visited a total of 45 rooms, delivering every flavor the girl scouts offer.
"So with COVID, all the residents got used to not being able to see anyone, so it’s grateful that they can be able to see people and get out. For the girls, it builds them up to build their speaking voice and sharing and doing that opportunity to share and then have that building relationship out in the community," St. Ansgar girl scouts troop leader, Sarah Nelson said.
Troop leaders tell us Saint Ansgar has 30 girls between daisies. brownies and juniors.
"It’s cool cause there’s like a new kind of cookie every year, and it’s fun to see how people like what kind of cookies they like and why," girl scout Alexa Mayer said.
The next stop for the troop is the nursing home in St. Ansgar.
