Total Lunar Eclipse tonight
Our last Total Lunar Eclipse until 2025, we’ll have the windows of opportunity to see it unfold tonight. It won’t be a pristine sky if you want to do a time-lapse but we should see some openings occur in the cloud deck to allow for you to see the blood red that transpires during totality.
We’ll enter partial eclipse just after 3 AM. Totality will begin around 4:15 AM and conclude just before 5:45 AM. The partial eclipse will end at 6:45 AM.
The moon will begin this process at about 45° azimuth in the SW sky and end very near the horizon in the northwest sky.
As mentioned, there will be a few clouds to contend with, especially closer to sunrise. But we should have a chance to see totality in most locations in that 90 minute stretch.
