(ABC 6 News) — She’s one of the fastest players you’ll see, whether it’s passing or scoring, CJ Adamson loves life in the fast lane.
"I hope to be fast, I mean, if that’s the question. Genetics plays a great role in it. I mean, just keeping up with it and doing all the maintenance for getting even better at what you have or improving what you have, it’s just a big thing."
She also lives for the game. She’s had many memorable moments in her time with Lourdes girls hoops, including 1,000 career points and depending on Thursday, a section championship.
"It’s hard to imagine her having best games of her career now at this point; after all the great games she’s had to this point," Lourdes JV coach Scott Helt stated. "All the assists that she’s making, her defensive stops, helping others get into position to succeed."
She’s also been trying to hone in on the school’s all-time assists record this season, but she’s not exactly curious about the number.
"I know I’m close I kind of like to not know just so I don’t psych myself out," Adamson giggled. "Just being present in the moment, sticking to what I’m good at and not trying to be outside myself."
Adamson’s had the fortune of learning from great eagles before… and nothing speaks more to who she is on the court… than giving her teammates the chance to win…
"It’s always great when someone has a great game and you’re able to help out a little bit in that," Adamson said. "You always want to put your teammate in the best possible position. If they’re having a great game you’re going to give them the ball."
Past veterans were there for Adamson, a sense of confidence that comes with being trusted to go all out. The exact feeling she’s wants to give back.
