Mason City teen hurt in single-vehicle crash Friday
(ABC 6 News) – A Mason City teen was injured in a single-vehicle crash north of the city late Friday.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff said just after 5:30 p.m., 16-year-old Shayla Shannon was heading north on Hwy 65 near 300th Street when she struck the railing going under a railroad bridge.
Shannon’s vehicle rolled once and landed upright deploying both driver and passenger-side airbags.
Shannon was extricated from the vehicle and taken to MercyOne for evaluation. At this time, the extent of her injuries is unknown and the crash remains under investigation.
