Police identify man after body found near train tracks in NE Rochester

(ABC 6 NEWS) – The Rochester Police Department has identified the body that was found near train tracks in northeast Rochester Saturday night.

The man has been identified as 29-year-old Joshua Crews. Police said he is from the Rochester area and said he may have been homeless at the time of his death.

Police said it appears Joshua was hit by the train and killed.

The Rochester Police Department is investigating an adult male body found on train tracks near Silver Lake Dr. Northeast and Civic Center Dr. Northwest Saturday night. The lead officer on the scene described the incident as an "accident with the train."

According to RPD, the call came in at about 6:35 p.m. after a passerby saw the body lying across the tracks. Traffic was redirected off of Silver Lake Drive briefly, but the scene opened back up about at around 9 p.m.

Authorities are investigating and may offer more information on Monday. This is a developing story, follow ABC 6 News for updates.
