Local record store celebrates Record Store Day 2022

(ABC 6 News) – It’s a big day for music lovers, it’s Record Store Day.
It started back in 2007 as a way for independent record store owners and employees to celebrate music. For Rochester Records, it’s one of their busiest sales days of the year. They not only sell their normal merchandise but a number of limited edition pressings exclusive for Record Store Day.
"Releases that are put out, special pressings, special colors, unreleased on vinyl and such," explained Hussein Esmailzadeh, the owner of Rochester Records. "It’s the big record day for most independent record stores for the year."
One of the most popular records sold Saturday is "the lakes" by Taylor Swift. Rochester Records only received three copies and they sold out within minutes of opening.
