(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Area ReStore is continuing to celebrate Earth Day, with EarthFest.
People were invited to use repurposed ceiling fan blades and make their own chalkboards. Rochester Area ReStore has done an Earth Day activity for several years and every year, it’s something different. But that’s not the only way the ReStore is giving back to the environment.
"The ReStore is great for the environment because it keeps things out of the landfill," said Amanda Kintzi, volunteer coordinator and sales floor manager at Rochester Area ReStore.
"It lets people donate usable items that people can purchase to help Habitat for Humanity. And then it keeps it from going into a landfill or getting burned, and it lets someone else give further life to an item that otherwise, may not have been wanted."
Another local business donated the ceiling fan blades for EarthFest.
