(ABC 6 News) – NAMI Southeast Minnesota, also known as the National Alliance of Mental Illness, will soon be moving to a new location.
After over a decade of providing services in the North Broadway location, NAMI Southeast Minnesota will now occupy a bigger space to help more people.
There has been a steady growth of people in need of these programs and the move will give them the chance to meet those needs and open up more possibilities.
“We have the opportunity to just do some more programs, to expand our staff, to get more volunteers in the office, volunteers are a really key part of what we do, and right now, we don’t have a lot of space for those volunteers,” NAMI Marketing Director Courtney Lawson.
NAMI will stay at its current office until November 30 and will move to its new office located at 2746 Superior Dr. NW, Suite 110 on January 3.
From December 1st to January 2nd, NAMI staff will be available via phone and email only. Meetings are by appointment only and will occur within the community as staff will be working remotely. All support groups will meet as scheduled, with in-person Connection Support Groups on December 14th and 28th occurring at alternate locations.
They also plan to hold an open house sometime in the spring.
