(ABC 6 NEWS) – The Rochester Fire Department said Peace United Church was on fire early Monday morning.

The fire department went to Peace United Church in Northeast Rochester around 2 a.m. Monday after a fire alarm.

Rochester Fire said the fire was in a small area, but there was a significant amount of smoke in the main and lower levels of the church.

Nearly all parts of the church and school have smoke exposure and there is no estimate of damage at this time, according to RFD.

No one was injured.

RFD said if it was not for the fire alarm system, the building would have sustained more damage.
