(ABC 6 News) – The National Weather Service has officially confirmed an EF-1 tornado went through southeast Mason City Tuesday night.

Crews were out surveying the damage and cleaning up Wednesday. The Barnhart building lost its roof and suffered severe damage to at least one side of the structure.

There’s no official work on the extent or estimate of the damages caused Tuesday night, or how long it will take for cleanup and repairs.

"Never seen anything like this in my life. It was probably ten times worse than I thought it was gonna be. I didn’t even know half of this building was completely gone. There was a big RV camper next door that had blown in and is now on our property," said Al Leweke.
