(ABC 6 News) – Pat Lund, a long-time Sports Director at KTTC, has died according to social media posts from his family.
Lund worked at KTTC for 30 years up until his retirement in 2020.
ABC 6 News Anchor Betsy Singer and her husband Ken Quattrin both worked alongisde Pat for several years and he was even in their wedding.
"Pat was the most fun-loving man and he was intensely passionate about local sports. He was a dear friend and will be missed by everyone in this community," said Betsy.
"The passing of Pat Lund makes my heart ache for the family and for our community. He was a legend for local sports. Think of the generations of student athletes and coaches he was a part of in southeast Minnesota. I will always remember Pat’s roar in the newsroom at KTTC for always pushing for greatness as a team and no compromising. I will also remember the gentle heart of Pat and the millions of laughs we shared together and his love for our community. Pat had a signature saying that still resonates with me…is life all work and worry? No, it’s not! Live everyday to the fullest. That was in Pat’s playback book to the very end. Cheers my friend with much love and respect," said Ken.
We here at ABC 6 News would like to extend our deepest condolences to Pat’s family, friends, and KTTC coworkers.
