Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity receives $80k grant to increase affordable housing

(ABC 6 News) – Rochester’s Two Rivers Habitat for Humanity is receiving $80,000 to preserve affordable housing in southeastern Minnesota.
The grant is from Otto Bremer Trust in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Two Rivers Executive Director, Pat Heydon, says the money will be used to recruit a resource development director to help coordinate fundraising efforts to better assist households.
“We are in a crisis point for affordable housing and that’s an area that we can have an impact and we can have a positive impact,” explained Heydon. “This is a full time position that will work on behalf of our affiliate to help raise funds which will impact our families that we work with.”
The rest of the money will be used to further the organizations technology. Heydon says it needs more security and better internet speeds while out in the field assisting households.
