Plainview man arrested after burglary of brother’s home

(ABC 6 News) – A Plainview man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of taking several guns and an X-Box from his brother’s Rochester home.

A 29-year-old Rochester man called police on the morning of Tuesday, May 17, from the 2000 block of 5th Avenue NE.

He told police he’d noticed two glock pistols, a shotgun, and an X-Box missing from his house, and he believed his brother, 24-year-old Zachary Koetz, had taken them.

Koetz didn’t have a house key, but could have entered via garage code, he added.

Rochester police located Koetz at a house in the 4400 block of London Lane NW, Capt. Casey Moilanen said.

He “bolted” out the back door after police rang the bell, and was arrested shortly thereafter.

Koetz admitted to stealing two handguns and the X-box, Moilanen said, but not the shotgun.

One of the handguns had already been sold, Moilanen added, and featured in a Monday arrest at Walmart North, wherein a Rochester teen was ticketed for carrying the weapon without a permit.

Koetz faces a felony second-degree burglary charge, as well as two charges of felony theft of property over $1,001.
