Baldelli, Twins test positive for COVID-19
The Minnesota Twins got some bad news on the final day of its road trip.
Thursday, the team said manager Rocco Baldelli tested positive for COVID-19. Bench coach Jayce Tingler will be the acting manager in Baldelli’s absence.
Additionally, pitcher Dylan Bundy tested positive for COVID, and more test results are still pending, meaning a series of roster moves could be on the way.
Minnesota will wrap up its road trip in Baltimore on Thursday before starting a nine-game homestand on Friday.
Under current MLB protocols, players and coaches who test positive have to wait at least two days before getting tested again and need negative results on consecutive days to return, meaning an absence will last at least three days.
