Over 1,000 fentanyl pills seized during drug task force investigation
1,064 fentanyl pills seized during 5/4/22 search warrant [Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force]
(ABC 6 News) – The Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force seized a large amount of fentanyl pills, and a pair of firearms, during an investigation.
The Taskforce said during the week of April 27 agents executed four search warrants in which they seized a large number of fentanyl pills and two firearms.
36-year-old Geramy Durrell Hopson was arrested but posted bail on May 2. As part of Hopson’s conditional release, he was subject to GPS monitoring, and on May 3 authorities said GPS data showed him visiting a storage locker in rural Kasota.
On May 4, agents executed a search warrant at the storage locker and found 1,064 Mbox 30 Fentanyl pills.
Hopson was found, arrested, and charged with 1st-degree controlled substance sales and 1st-degree controlled substance possession.
Authorities said the pills seized were blue, had ’30’ stamped on one side and the letter ‘M’ with a square around it on the other side, and were made to look like 30mg oxycodone prescription pills, but instead contain fentanyl and are extremely dangerous. The task force also stated that the pills seized were a different color than the pills they have seized in years past.
