(ABC 6 News) – Rochesterfest finally wraps after a long week from Saturday, Jun. 18 –Sunday Jun. 26.
The parade was held Saturday, and was one of the few popular events. There were about 80 units, and it went on for about an hour and a half. After the parade, many showed up to Soldiers Field Memorial Park to enjoy food and live music.
Although, that wasn’t the case for the rest of the days. Stephen Rose, the executive director of Rochesterfest, said he was disappointed about the attendance this year.
"Overall, it went off without too many hitches. We were disappointed in the turnout. Especially on Saturday night. It was really light for our premiere band that we had," Rose said.
Many attribute the lack or crowds to intense heat.
Fortunately, the concert with Time Machine and the Party in the Park with George Kahumoku Jr. and Peter DeAquino Hawaiian Music were a hit.
Rose and Rochesterfest Board of Directors received feedback and are already planning for next year. They hope to bring something new to the festival that will attract people from all over the city.
