Last-minute shopping and traveling

(ABC 6 News) – The parking lot was packed at Apache Mall Saturday afternoon many getting their last-minute Christmas shopping in mostly because they haven’t been able to shop the last few days.

Karl Meunier and Mercedes Ruiz are on their way to southern Wisconsin from the Twin Cities to visit family for the holidays and even today the wind and the snow impacted travel.

“So, when we were coming across those stretches where there weren’t any trees it was sometimes hard to see the road. The snow was drifting across. So, a little slower drive, yeah. And we definitely didn’t do any Christmas shopping the last few days,” said Karl.

Mercedes’ family lives in Spain where the weather is much warmer. “So, they are right now at 73 degrees and I’m sending them video and pictures of the cold Minnesota and they can’t believe we are still alive in this weather.” said Mercedes.
