(ABC 6 News) – The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday, Dec. 28 that they would still not officially confirm the woman’s identity until the investigation had progressed further.
Capt. James Schueller with the OCSO said there was still no danger to the public, and that the woman’s autopsy would likely be completed Wednesday.
(ABC 6 News) – UPDATE: The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office discovered a deceased woman in Cascade Township Monday night after a resident’s dog located the dead body in a ditch off the roadway.
According to Capt. James Schueller with the OCSO, deputies arrived on scene at about 4:24 p.m. after a woman reported seeing a human arm in the ditch.
The woman’s dog had pulled her 20-25 feet off West River Road near River Bluff Lane NW, where the woman’s body was located.
The OCSO had not released the deceased woman’s name or age Tuesday morning. However, Capt. Schueller said investigators had almost certainly identified the body and would begin notifying her family Tuesday.
The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension helped the OCSO “process” the scene.
Capt. Schueller said the death is being considered suspicious, and there was some evidence that the woman had been moved to West River Road after her death.
“No one deserves to end up like that. We need to find out what led up to her being there, who she was with…based on what we have, we know it to be a suspicious death. So, we would like to be able to follow it through,” Capt. Schueller said.
