UPDATE: 16-year-old motorcyclist identified after fatal motorcycle crash
(ABC 6 News) – Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash in northeast Rochester Thursday afternoon.
Police say 16-year-old Jack Andrew O’Neil died at the scene. The crash happened around 12:54 p.m. at the intersection of East Circle Drive NE and Northern Valley Place NE.
Police said the O’Neil was driving the motorcyle at a ‘very high rate of speed’ and some witnesses said he might have been going up to 100 miles per hour.
An SUV was waiting at a stop sign to pull onto East Circle Drive, and the 47-year-old did not see the motorcycle traveling east.
As the SUV attempted to make a left turn, Rochester police say the motorcycle struck the vehicle.
The driver of the car was not injured.
Rochester police are still investigating the incident.
RPD is investigating a fatal crash between a motorcycle and car that occurred at 12:54 pm at East Circle Drive NE and Northern Valley Place NE. The driver of the motorcycle, a juvenile male, died at the scene. The Forensic Mapping Unit is working to determine what happened.
