Rochester man gets prison after search nets more than 7 pounds of cocaine

(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester man has been sentenced to more than 4 years in prison after a search warrant nets over seven pounds of cocaine.

33-year-old Robert Alejandro Torres Nieves was sentenced to four years and eight months in a state correctional facility, with credit for 2 days already served. Torres Nieves was also fined $1,000.

He pleaded guilty in November to first-degree drug possession.

According to court documents, on February 14, investigators with the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office executed a knock-and-announce search warrant at a home in the 3700 block of Kenosha Dr. NW.

During a search of the house, investigators located a safe with multiple packages that contained suspected cocaine.

The total weight of the cocaine located in the safe was 3,391.6 grams (7.48 lbs.) with packaging.

During a search of a bedroom, investigators located $55,360 in cash. Digital scales and packaging material were also found throughout the home.
