(ABC 6 News) — If there’s one sport synonymous with Iowa summers, it’s baseball.
Both Osage and Northwood-Kensett knew this during Tuesday’s Top of Iowa baseball matchup. The Green Devils were already up 3-0 as the Vikings tried to hit back in the bottom of the first inning. Nolan Senne chopped to left but couldn’t outrun the throw to first base in time.
With the Green Devils back behind the plate, Tyler Oberfell slammed the ball deep to left in the top of the second, bringing home a runner to pad the lead to 4-0.
Northwood-Kensett’s Grady Buenzow allowed the bases to be loaded and walked in another run as Osage eventually worked its up a 16-0 lead at one point. The Green Devils ultimately won by a whopping 23-4 final score.
