(ABC 6 News) – A man was arrested by St. Charles police after June 16’s shelter-in-place order was lifted.
Bryan Edward Anderson, 26, was booked at the Winona County Jail Thursday evening, after committing multiple traffic violations in front of police, fleeing officers in his vehicle and on foot.
Those violations included running through stop signs, nearly colliding with a police officer, and fleeing police in a motor vehicle.
Soon after Anderson took off running on foot, St. Charles police issued a shelter-in-place order for the immediate area of Meadowview Drive.
The order was lifted after officers determined there was no immediate threat to the public.
St. Charles and Olmsted County police officers received a report from a Dover resident that a subject matching Anderson’s description was walking along a gravel road in the area of 15th St. SE and 195th Avenue.
After a search of the area, St. Charles police found Anderson hiding in the woods, and took him into custody.
Anderson faces charges of fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and on foot, suspicion of driving while intoxicated (pending test result), reckless driving, speeding, multiple stop sign violations, failure to stop at semaphore, driving with a revoked drivers license, possession of burglary/theft tools, and probation violation.
UPDATE: A shelter in place requested for a St. Charles neighborhood has now been lifted.
According to police, the alert was requested in response to a man who fled in a motor vehcle after an officer attempted to stop him for several traffic violations in the 700 block of Meadow View Dr. and Hwy 74/Don Drive.
The man is described as a white male, approximately 6’3’, slender build, wearing a black t-shirt and jean shorts. He was last seeing running west bound towards Hwy 74 from Meadow View Dr.
At this time, police do not believe the subject presents a risk to public safety. If you see a subject matching the description above, do not approach him, call law enforcement.
